Written as a follow up to a BBC documentary, this is the book where the authors presented an ‘audacious’ and groundbreaking hypothesis : theories which of course have achieved notoriety in the shape of Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code. It’s funny - on the back cover ( it did cause a fair amount of hoo-ha when it was released) Newsweek said ‘ A brilliant thriller in the making’ - and of course, as we know, some people came along and did just that. Definitely worth a read. Of course for all Templar and Grail enthusiasts but nowadays anyone who wanted to know about where some of the ideas presented in the fictional Da Vinci Code had their roots ( and enough information and bibliography is presented in the text for people to take their own research further and draw their own conclusions about the subject matter) Again - they make it clear that theirs is a startling hypothesis and a set of speculations about historical events.

US Department of Justice has released footage of the American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon. This comes after a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch - a conservative legal group/ ‘watchdog’. Word is this is to quell all the conspiracy theories that the Pentagon was never hit, and an impact was ’simulated’..
the footage is taken from two angles and one of the tapes is from a security camera. reasons cited in the past for not releasing this footage is that it could have had an impact on the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui.
the judicial watch website was down yesterday evening following reports this video was going to be released at 1700 GMT (of course that was going to happen -!) they”ve now dealt with it and you can find the video and info on it here

It will be very interesting to see what happens now - in the light of all the theories to date ( which of course were all fueled by the non-release of such footage) re: the Pentagon crash - that it didn”t happen etc. etc. If any “conspiracy theorists” are reading this - please shout! Judicial Watch have said that they “hoped the release of the footage would put to rest the conspiracy theories involving American Airlines 77″

there’s been a lot of things happening - a week now since the elections and boy what a fallout. More on that later in another post. ( isn’t it amusing all this talk of a civil war between Blair and Brown? chuckle..)
i’ve just read this in the epolitix round up and wanted to highlight:
“John Reid publishes the government’s ‘narrative of events’ surrounding the July 7 terrorist attacks in London. The home secretary will resist the pressure to hold a public inquiry into the bombings.
The July 7 statement coincides with the publication of a report from the intelligence and security committee on intelligence matters relating to the July terrorist attacks, to which Reid will also deliver the government’s response. The MPs and peers are expected to conclude that the London attacks could not have been prevented. It will say that the bombers were inspired by al Qaeda but not directed by the terrorist network. However it is also expected to question why the intelligence services lowered the official terrorist threat level one month before the the tube and bus bombings.”
interesting. why just think - echoes of 9/11. the same thing that’s given rise to so many conspiracy theories about that- the fact that the government refused to have a public inquiry. now that just makes people think “what are you trying to hide?”
of course, as we know - the world of politics is really more concerned with who gets blamed for what - so naturally they don’t want to open a can of worms which in their mind - will simply be about finding some scapegoat or other. so stand by..
