8 random facts about me: ( thanks to the apostate for the tag!)
1. All right, here are the rules.
2. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
3. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
4. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
5. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Really random.. this stuff:
- I am very bad at following rules! and i am a terrible terrible procrastinator also
- I used to sleepwalk regularly till I was about 21
- I used to paint - portraits mostly - but got burnt-out at 16 and never painted again after 17 ( ok so it was in the middle of a-levels i had to struggle for one more year!)
- I lived in a refugee camp in the jordanian desert for a week when i was 13
- I detest having to go shopping particularly for shoes, and particularly with other people
- I went to the same school that Queen Rania of Jordan went to (i.e. when she wasn”t a queen!)
- I still get a thrill when i get on the net - “just think what you might find today!”
- I don”t like talking on the phone - i actively avoid it, my to-do list usually has call such and such on it for ages.
i”m tagging: leighton cooke, ceridwen devi, golmal sid, leon, daniels counter and chairwoman of the bored.
( okay there”s been bending of rules going on..but as i said in no. 1..)

Funny about mobile phones. I avoid them as much as I can too. But I do like a bit of retail therapy now and again.
Oh fuck, no!
heh heh!
I looove shoe shopping! But only if I find a great pair of shoes. If I don’t find what I like - which is like 80% of the time - I hate it!
I don’t own a cellphone. I go into a shop, buy the most comfortable shoes, and walk out.
The sleepwalking and refuge camp bit is sad
heh i hear you chickpea and suroor- shoes are hard to come by that are actually comfortable and not terribly ugly at the same time. i actually am interested in the aesthetics of many of the shoes on display -e.g. a pair of manolos for me is beautiful viewing but hardly the thing i’d choose to stagger around london’s cobbled streets on or trying to run for the tube
in the end i find it easier to just wear sandals when its not absolutely freezing!
the refugee camp was good experience for me, let’s just put it like that, plus i got out of it, which is the main thing, so i’m one of the Really Lucky ones.
I definitely understand what you mean about comfort vs. appearance. I’m a sucker for high heels, but I try to only buy pairs that I can survive standing up on the train for my morning commute while wearing. Some pairs that I own would never pass this test, but they are from when I was young and silly (LOL, i still am!).
I love flip flops and open toe shoes, but my new job has this whole “no-open toe shoe” rule… I noticed that my boss has being pretty much ignoring it the past 3 weeks, I wonder if I can get away with some nice slides!
i could never get to the bottom of the mystery about why i hate talking on the phone and why, like you, i have an increasing number of people on my calendar who i have to call.
finding someone else like me, makes me feel as if the problem is not as unique to me as i initially imagined.
