Cyberwar?!

cyberwar

Very strange goings-on.

“Russia” is apparentlycyber-warring” “Estonia”!

The Loose Wire writes that Russian hackers have been carrying out denial of service (DDos) attacks on Estonian websites.

The Insights Blog gives us a bit of ..insight!..into the Estonian/Russian background and tensions.

The BBC says Estonia wants to stick this at the top of Friday”s EU-Russia summit agenda.
So what do the techies out there think about this funny business?

    Sonia,
Could you zip me an email so I can add you to The Peace Tree contributors list if you are so inclined? I looked for an email address on your blogs, but to no avail. I would like for you to be a contributing author on The Tree if you’ve the time.
    Thank you.

    Peace,
    Mark (thepoetryman)

Someone cyberwarred my Yahoo account with zillions of viagra porn spam while I was travelling. I have much sympathy for my Estonian friends.

Nothing new… all the ISPs around the world are being attacked 24/7.

People are getting too accustomed to the procrastinating nature of the Virtual World we call “World Wide Web”. I mean, if you can do an illegal wire transfer with a few lines of codes that makes a Columbian drug lord রাজা টু ফকির in an instant, then why not :)

atunu..now if we knew how to do illegal wire transfers we’d be in business! russell..you’re right it’s ‘nothing new’ though admittedly if it turns out it is ’state aggression’ that would be new for the international relations crowd..

personally i don’t know how well-informed governments are - usually they don’t seem to be upto the same cutting edge standards as independent techies. if you know what i mean..
