i was recently browsing around the blogosphere and found writer wallah, a very amusing character. he’d written this equally amusing post about Women
( definitely worth checking out!) so i of course decided to add my two bits. this is WW’s response and i found it so amusing i had to stick it up here..
writer wallah said..
“I hate the phone, i hate shopping, i have not very many pairs of shoesâ€What kind of a woman are you? Don’t tell me your some post-modernist feminist who hairy arm pits and a copy of virginia woolf constantly tucked up your arm?!
Either that or you may in fact be a man.
Hmmmm.
I’d like to think my thoughts on chicks is quite accurate and yes, I know, I’m generalising, but the basics are there.
And yes, each women is unique and individual and full of their own peculiar and mystfying quircks.
Love the women.”

Sonia,
I’ve just finished re-reading the Da Vinci Code and he makes some great references to how once upon a time, the female godess and the celebration of femininity was the religion of the day until the Church decided to change matters. The basic point is, that a man’s world is a destructive one, and more female interaction is needed to restore the natural order of peace.
So maybe we should champion a female UN GS.
“Behind every great man, is a woman.”
We should definitely champion a female UN GS among other things. the cult of the feminine is definitely very interesting - especially compared to modern notions of God which definitely give off a masculine air ( though all this anthropomorphism about concepts of the divine is pretty bewildering to me) what makes some sense to me is the mother earth/nature business but i wouldn’t really conflate that with a human gendered construct.
In any case i don’t really see how intrinsically more females per se would ‘restore’ peace - women are perfectly capable of being mean nasty bitches and often are! When people talk about motherhood and maternal instincts and only refer to the ‘caring’ bit they seem to overlook the aggressive and protective aspect this can also involve. Think tigresses.
It doesn’t make sense that women should be excluded from the public sphere, and that’s why it should be possible for a person, regardless of their sex, to participate without fear of bias and prejudice. I call myself an ‘equalist’ and not a feminist as the latter term often gives rise to accusations of favouring women over men. I’m interested in equality. one of the problems with feminism was that we women weren’t very happy to give equal rights to men in many cases - so fat lot of good it was talking about equality.
But do you have hairy armpits like me? All this man/woman stuff gets soooo boring after a while. Sorry, Writer Wallah, but I think it’s the men who are fucked up. So now the Goddess should come back and clean up the mess à la Da Vinci Code? Just like mummy used to do. I was listening to this idiot porn publisher on Radio 2 today saying why he did not think porn should be kept out of the hands of children. You have to pay a licence fee to listen to this garbage. Equality is a great ideal and one that we are sadly very far away from. If it’s any consolation, Sonia, I saw your pictures and cannot believe you are a man. Unless you have a very clever disguise!
though one of my old readers Cimurai ( i wonder where he vanished off to? he did say he was a deep sea fisherman..) would insist it was a disguise!
we could get Ceridwen up as leading candidate for Goddess..
Crone goddess, maybe. Now all we need is a virgin goddess and a mother goddess. Isis can be the mother. Know any good virgins?
a good virgin pina colada..
Does that mean we’ll all have to learn the Pina Colada song?

I wanna be the virgin goddess. Only from my belly button up, of course!
hey that’s a good song!
Pamela Green-Vomyte i commend you on your name - and of course you can be a virgin goddess belly button up..
