i think this whole google debacle and backlash highlights one thing:

independent media

–> and more importantly - the need for it.

as we all know and can see, this is of paramount importance. essentially Google in going down this route is seriously compromising any independence it may have had.

State-sponsored media - ah well..not very interesting for a lot of us.
