“The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said Sir Ian would be investigated after he was named in an official complaint by the family of the Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot dead at Stockwell tube station this summer.”
well one of the things that became clear was that pretty much everything the police said officially once the shooting had happened - turned out later to be incorrect. No jumping of barriers, no running no big ‘bomber’ jacket - nothing.

I wish I could think that poor people / foreigners / left-wingers / public sector workers / environmentalists / ethnic minorities / free thinkers / single mothers / gays / media people / NGO workers / liberals / communists / anarchists / academics / non-conformists and blue collar workers are lazy, stupid, misguided and shit, always think of myself before others, believe that the law doesn’t apply to me if I can get away with it, consider it okay to kill people who get in my way, exploit and manipulate people and laugh about it with my privileged friends and be so assured in my faith that I could write off non-believers as morally warped perverts deserving only divine retribution.
Then I could probably chase after hot right-wing chicks too!

ho ho - - i enjoy the attention my blog gets sure. i don’t imagine its attention directed at me personally is it. ive created a space for me to say things and other people to come and argue and say a lot of things. if i wanted ‘personal’ attention id stick a picture of myself up here and rabbit on about what i wear and what i look like, who i know blah blah..ha ha. as it happens..ive been neutral about who i am, which in the short term will probably get less attention for my blog - but preferable in the long run.

Fat and ugly! I have a problem with the strange juxtaposition of these two human attributes.
Just because someone is fat, she does not have to be ugly.
I fact many of the Bollywood starlets are slightly on the heavier side- think Madhubala, Sridevi, even Rani Mukherjee. They are not exactly like Barbie dolls.
In fact most Indian men consider fat women as cuddly….

ha ha ven gives himself away with comments such as these. so if a woman is goodlooking then of course she would display her image. only if she is fat and ugly would she hide it. Right..¬!yahh…can’t understand a person not placing their physical representation foremost when in contact with others. who cares anyway if i was a fat ugly gal - or as Cimurai would put it - he thinks i’m a man - or whatever. would that make a difference to what im saying?

Dony worry Sonia you poor thing, even if you were fat and Ugly, I wouldnt care. I was iust trying to get you out of your shell. I do understand that there are many people who are very shallow and cannot go beyond looks. Its alright Sonia, we understand you.
IC, most women at least here in US are obsessed by their body. They hate it even if they are a pound overweight. Certainly like their age, they wouldnt like to disclose their weight.

That is only because the concept of beauty is different in West from what it is in India. West is already rich, so they are not obsessed with displaying their riches and hence plumpness doesn’t mean much to them. They can afford to be thin as Barbie and still be considered beautiful.
But there is widespread poverty in India, so we Indians tend to be obsessed with money and hence the national prediliction for plump women.
Plumpness, In the indian parlance is considered concomitant of a family that can afford a full meal, and hence is rich. Rich women or even men are always more beautiful than the poor ones. It sounds unfair, but that is the way teh world is…
