Sonia,
*
It’s a little bit surprised me when I found both your and Juliana’s entries here found to be ‘physically female (textured) characteristics’, at first I thought, I been confused due to my lacks of English language (since its happen to be my third or forth), anyway after carefully analyze and encode all its ‘internal textual virtual elements’ and transform into its ‘true face’ surface and still ‘smelt’ masculine.
*
Except for Juliana’s one (thought having using male fragrance at the time of writing that entry) have had dual ‘aroma’, male and female ( heh heh), yours one absolutely carried a male odour.
*
Anyway, it wont surprised me when your entry happen to be sound like female, because it is one self natural attitude of many males (when in a depression situation) to lower tones when been ‘defeated’, just like things that we could see at any (game/s) venue. The loosing group look sad, and even they smiles or laugh, its still look not real and sour,
(at least for a short while).
*
By the way all your attraction you created on other blog seems to be ‘totally male’ and that includes the one specially you creates, entitled “gendered space: media, gender and identity”.
*
Sorry if my words disqualified your ethical value, thought I’m going to unveiled what all about my ‘(virtual) texts reading codes’ here, but since there s some other place seems more suitable, I’ll be there very soon and please don’t say you are not invited, mr fisherman.ek
*
Hope some guy would come with a better argument, field studies etc and I also care to share any.
*
Thanks.

aha heh hehe. yeah thought as much. Sorry to disappoint you in not being able to respond so rapidly over the weekend. gorgeous fireworks..you know i am actually enjoying the autumnal rainy streets..i havent had any internet at home for a bit so had to wait for a sunday afternoon coffeetime quick blogging session.

right basically Cimurai is conforming to the usual tired cliche of man = strong + possibly on average more intellectual, and woman = soft cuddly and doesnt swear!

i think ive put up a lot of posts where my language is quite vitriolic. i enjoy that. does that mean im not feminine? Probably. doesn't say anything about my sex though. so while our fishing friend Cimurai might be making guesses about 'average' females - who ever said we were average? Heh heh!

still its all very amusing. No doubt i should be flattered that its being assumed im am one of the 'higher order'.

:-)

oh i also wanted to point out: generally i dont bother about spelling with capitals. sometimes it happens due to spelling errors! im not one of the camp who think if its important it ought to be spelt with a Caps..

*laughs* I am very intrigued to know how Cimurai rationalised/clues in abt gender via style of writing on blogs/forums. I haven't said that much, have I? But still, I am curious coz there might be few helpful hints to pick up for me to use on others!

Oh deep sea fishing- are you a big trawler type fisherman or are you a much more enviromentally and fish stock friendly fisherman? :)

Sonia> Hehehe, can u smell a good looking person and a dodgy person apart? Apparently a cheating partner gives out a sourish smell when they are lying and cheating on their other halves. Sometimes I wonder if there is any grain of truth in these studies.....

I’m back,
*
A ha,… you said “i don’t think i ever said.………” …. interesting!
…
Back to the above topic .
*
Okay, your last entry sound to be more toward ‘feminine’ but still dominated by ‘masculinity’ odors, I say it 55-45. not like the rest which I can say 70-30 in favour of masculinity, only some phrases have had of a ‘motherly’ ‘caractère’ tones and/or feminism momentum of sweet ‘melody’. That if you look closely at the ‘internal sprit’ of words, phrases, sentences, and entries individually or overall.
*
Whenever to judge on something, don’t just only look at the ‘skin’ of it’s, because its only throw a little information about the ‘spiritual’ information of the author.
*
Okay, elder fisherman said “different water have a different fish” which what they meant is that different palace/s contribute to variation to natural behavior etc. and which its is parallel to my believe of ‘space and time’ influence in daily life.
*
In my place ‘soft’ male not necessarily gay, in fact most of them are not, and so masculinish female either. And therefore I never suspect you at any time as a gay nor lesbie, the only thing is that for me you are a male that pretended as a female character on blogsphere, that all, nothing more or less.. (and why you are doing so, …. a hah… that’s another story)
*
I also agreed that some female doing better than male in terms of if academics achievement are concerned ( in some streams) but anyway I stand along side Hawkings that believe on average males have more intellectual values than females, even though I have had some disagreement to his ‘scientific (probabilities) theories’.
*
In ‘real life’ where communication are based on ‘face to face’ matter as visibility may apply, people don’t really need any skill to differentiates gender type of person that they are facing with, since while they already could see it barely, laterally there no reason to chose other means to determine on something, it’s the eyes and ears job generally, so brain have to relax because less jobs for its to do on this part.
*
However, here on blogspere, as you said, “in this textual environment”, brain now replacing ‘eyes and ears’ as a key player and most important part of on how to determine characteristic ‘living thing’ of this complex environment/s. Methods of determination of less ‘substantive’ form of elements here laid mostly to brain to trace and encode hidden information/s carried by ‘text’ sent by the author/s, not only on its physical appearances but also in its virtual and spiritual aspect.
*
Related ‘apparatus’ available inside our brain therefore must be ‘utilized’ as so that we would become a truly ‘virtual literates’.
*
So now the clues. (the easier come first)
(hope I’m nobody offended)
*
No 1. You literally never said belong to any faith. Anyway your alphabetical used shows as when you mention/dictates the respective ‘subject’ appeared to be e.g. the ‘E’ in capital letter for ‘Eid’ and ‘d’ are not for ‘divali’ in the same sentence. This could mean either you are carelessly miss-typing or perhaps at least a sympathizer of a ‘Eid’s community if not, say, under the influenced.
*
(I am not going to clarified on ‘virtual substances’ that carried scented information on this, at least for now, next time perhaps)
*
2. male-type of wording always not happen to be the same with the female, no matter in ‘voicing’ some rude or rough or sweet or polite or what ever aspect of thing. There are certain ‘frequency limit’ that would differentiate between this two gender just like the sound provided in real life by the two, only here a little bit tricky when ‘ears’ as devices to determine sound no longer useful.
*
Female/s physical/biological softness tend to use soften word/s, phrase or sentence or even if they using similar words, the ‘melody’ of phrase/s or sentence/s would be at female scale frequency.
*
To tell you how I encodes this requires me to unveiled a lot of technique including but not limited to, to determine differences of which, a masculinish and/or feminist forms of alphabet, word/s, combination of word/s, phrase/s, sentence/s etc, so what ‘the hell’ of ‘the code of melody’ that I am talking about be clarified in a better ‘environment’.
*
So until next ‘meeting’, hope you could change how to view your entries on its ‘physical and virtual substance/s’
*
Ps : I smoke many kind of cigars such as brand Don Juan Platinum Matador, La Perla Habana, Cuban Seed Imperial ,La Gloria Cubana Tainos, La Flor de Cano Coronas anyway my favourite are from Romeo y Julieta (Romeo, Romeo y Julieta and super Hermosos) which I used to smoke nowadays, some time at sea Swisher Sweet (cherry flavour) I used as cigarette.
*
Pps: I have been most part of seas ( I meant certain famous fishing area) other than the place that I happen to be a resident now.

a very good giggle indeed!

well very interesting stuff. and you think the 'character' juliana is a man as well! Well i daresay you may make 'judgements' on my writing since there's a lot of it on this blog, but perhaps its a bit hasty to judge Juliana on the comments 'she' ( heh heh) has posted - is that enough material for you to apply your skills?

Anyway i can quite see how most people think that if you're not coming across as some sort of air-head who talks about their shoes and hair and boyfriends and the colour of their bra strap and what -have- you and general emotional overtones, you MUST be a man. Why do people have such fixed ideas of what it is to be masculine and feminine? { brodly speaking - masculine = sensible and 'intellectual' and feminine = giggly and silly. } obviously a lot of people like to conform to these conventions but that's what it is - conformity to expected social roles. Not all men and not all women conform to those roles. ( generally if a man chooses not to conform to 'manly' / 'masculine' roles he is OF COURSE GAY. without a question! and by default the perfect 'best friend' for aforementioned stereotypical woman.} Goodness. ( now of course you'll say im a man but possibly a gay one..)

My early days on the Internet back in 1995 - one of my user names was 'Neurotics' and sometimes 'Psychotic' on IRC - and of course most people assumed i was a man. i didn't correct the assumption a lot of times and boy did people get into a tizzy later!

Anyway your 'deep-sea fisherman' ( where exactly do you fish by the way - sounds like fun..! and what kind of cigars do you smoke?) biological-'figuring out' skills sound most intriguing.

i have to say i don't hold in general with the socio-biological camp of thinking which in my opinion is highly deterministic. And completely unaware of social processes and how we construct reality socially.

And there isn't actually much scientific evidence to support it really either.

Developments in psychological research - including psycho-biological research of the brain and its neurology - and cognitive psychology - make a good case for what i'm suggesting - the nurture vs. nature camp.

Of course how the brain is built and its chemistry is significant - however since we can't still even explain how 'consciousness' arises from the brain's chemistry - { i.e. we have not resolved the 'Cartesian duality' question - although developments in cognitive science using cybernetic approaches are making great progess with this old OLD issue} we can't really explain social differences between males and females based on biological differences. Satisfactorily.

People assume that because men and women are biologically different
( which is pretty damn obvious) they can automatically extrapolate that to mean that explains social differences. Anc vice versa - that because females share biological similarities with other females- they must be similar ( replace argument for a male). Well they are similar biologically. But does that automatically mean they must be the 'same' socially?

Humans share genetic material with their siblings but that doesn't explain personality differences - i.e. it doesn't explain the INDIVIDUAL.

I am perhaps not just a man or a woman or a Hindu or a Muslim or any representative of one ' group' but an INDIVIDUAL who may or may not have characteristics from one or two or three of the aforementioned groups.

Anyway. that's my point of view and is still a radical one.

Though i must point out that for absoutely ages women were thought of being incapable of 'independent', 'rational', 'scientific' 'thought' - certainly not able to 'compete' intellectually with men - and biological reasons were used to explain this social distinction. And now that all the recent research and evidence is showing that girls have overtaken boys in academic achievement, and in certain careers there will soon be more women than men ( e.g. Law) so of course everyone then says ah well thats because boy's brains are like..this.. and girls brains are like this..and they're better at this..but we're still better at that..and blah blah...it goes on and on.

as for this 'smelling' people - ;-)). Made me laugh. no doubt any man who's ever been 'fooled' by trans-sexuals will think 'if only we could smell them out.!.'

and anyway, in the case of a writer like George Eliot in the 19th Century- she had to use a male pen name - and it was only later her real identity came out. no one had guessed 'he' was a 'she'. And of course with the revelation came social censure.

and you've run off before giving out the 'clues' - now that's not fair! Please do come back with them - i am very curious to find out what your conceptions of 'masculine' and 'feminine' are - in this textual environment - i can only hazard a guess that my 'political' views perhaps strike you as 'unfeminine' or my 'intellectual' interests sound 'masculine'. in either case im very curious.

and .. i don't think i ever said i was Hindu. So im not quite sure how there would be a clue that i wasn't ! Why did you imagine i was? You certainly do read between the lines! is it because i said happy diwali?

Aha, hi everyone, here I am again, … just coming back from deep-sea fishing, testing my new ‘Penn Reels 50sw international-ii’ ‘fifty lb’ fishing machine, aa tired little bit, but with five ‘sailor-fish’, etc. catched, that worth everything, yeah satisfactions, what else for a fisherman other than having ‘great’ catches!
*
And now its time to be in front of this funny little screen, see the other side of the world, chats with people/s and friend/s ……having a cup of white coffee and cigars … u uff what a gift in this beautiful world.
*
Talking about fishing, some ‘traditional fishing elders’ have said to me that, in order to be a good fisherman, ones must acquired not only a good catching technique, but also ones must acquired the very special technique (senses) that enable them to communicate with the inhabitant of the sea. There they said while they are still down there in the water, ‘whenever come sight’, you (could) already know which one are the ‘males’ and/or ‘females’. Good to be (if) true.
*
In the (complicated) world of cyber-space, since many ‘player/s’ tend to play ‘hide-and seek’ game, and remain anonymous, dealing with this situation, curiosity have made some people developed certain technique, that might ‘suggest’ that what kind of the other ‘intelligent being’ the other side of the world (that they are) in contact with, as it as can virtually be ‘visibly seen’ as they are just sitting on the chair in front of them.
*
Since biological living creatures (simply) divided into males and females (attributes of its naturals build-up), its actually contain genes that undoubtedly would affect every single (entire) aspect of their respective gender, as its biology, socials, compréhension, shapes, voices, ways of thinking, communications technique, interactions, spirits et cetera, in what ever way they able to be. living environment, space and time at certain degree perhaps could have some influence at some percentage, but overall its most of originals gender characteristics remain unhidden.
*
As what as to our topic here, on how someone potentially might know (have a clue) on who’s who, and/or type of gender of someone, by just reads some of their writing without any ‘real’ information given directly by the author, that sometime its quite difficult ( as if the ‘pretender/s’ is/are professionals) deliberately planned as to as they want to ‘seen’ as , but most of the time are not especially when they might think no one could ever know as she/he is hidden.
*
Make no mistake, thinking so (remain hidden) might cost some fall into ‘négligent’, and unconsciously wrote anything without knowingly every single word, phrase, reactions etc they made carried a ‘scent’ of the writer/s that could be ‘smelt’ by some reader/s.
*
Yeah, unless you are deeply influence by male characteristic surrounding yourself, I am 51% wrong, but if not, yes there who you are.
*

So, before I point out what make me predicted in that way, I want you yourself take a moment looking back on your entries try to see it yourself (first).
*
2. I also have a clue that you are not belong to Hindu’s faith.
*
3. And as for character ‘Juliana’, your writing also tends to show that you are a male.
*
I’ll be back 'soon' with the ‘clues’, sorry keep you all waiting, have to go to my fishing boat for a while, ....have a call from my crew, for some preparation for the next trip, I thought.
.
untill then, cheers
